<h1>THE DAWNING OF A NEW ERA FOR WOUND DRESSING DESIGNERS</h1>
<h2>Exopack® Advanced Coatings is proud to announce the launch of its new inspire™ polyurethane foam range for the wound care industry.</h2>
<p> This range compliments the existing polyurethane films and adhesive coated films in the current inspire™ portfolio. The polyurethane foam product portfolio contains a range of polyurethane materials from 250 microns to 400 microns thick, ideally suited as a backing or support layer for both Professional Healthcare wound dressings and for plasters to be sold into the consumer market. The inspire™ product range conforms to regulations for use in wound dressing applications.</p>
<p>The polyurethane foam product range has benefited from many years of development and offers unparalleled breathability, conformability, elasticity, softness and protection. The products are available in a range of colours, including white, that are stable even after sterilisation and exposure to UV.</p>
<p>The foams are available on a support liner and can be provided with a skin-friendly, breathable PSA. They can also be provided with a polyurethane film on the surface. This surface provides a bacterial barrier with a very low coefficient of friction. It also prevents leakage from the dressing and provides a surface that can be wiped clean.</p>
<p>Exopack® Advanced Coatings casts polyurethane films and polyurethane foams on site and offers an in-house printing service to enhance the marketing potential of its materials. This service utilises FDA approved inks and allows its customers to provide branding directly on the dressing or plaster.</p>
<p>In addition to the standard range of products, Exopack® Advanced Coatings has the capability to provide custom designs for the market, including anti-bacterial films and adhesives.</p>
<p>Exopack® Advanced Coatings has the capability to manufacture a broad range of polyurethane foam materials and would be interested to hear from companies who may have applications for these products outside of the wound care and medical markets.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.exopackadvancedcoatings.com/">Exopack® Advanced Coatings</a> (Exopack), a global specialist in contract coating, laminating and finishing flexible materials is delighted to announce it has purchased a state of the art coating machine, expanding Exopack’s capacity and capability.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The addition of this latest cleanroom precision coater brings to our customers advanced drying and curing capabilities, as well as the ability to apply multiple coatings in a single pass.  This will allow Exopack to offer quality, yield and efficiency improvements that will take our world leading contract manufacturing capability to a new and exciting level.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>This additional coating asset will allow Exopack to continue its aggressive growth strategy, focusing on new market platforms as well as its present market segments of Contract Coating, Electronics, Conductive Films, Pre-Press, Optical Coated Films, Medical, Security and Digital Storage Media.</p>

<p>The coater will be located at the Matthews, NC site in a purpose built clean room allowing full capability web flip, UV curing, camera inspection, three coating heads, expanded oven capacity and many more features opening great opportunities for our present and future customers.</p>

<p>Machine installation is targeted for mid-September and will be fully commissioned by Q4 of 2012. An aggressive timeline emphasizes the growth path that Exopack are focusing on whilst supplying highly technical and focused customer support.</p>

<p>Product quality and consistency play an ever-increasing role in determining competitive advantage in today’s markets.  Exopack Advanced Coatings are specialists in the coating,laminating and converting of flexible substrates used in medical, pre-press, electronic and optically clear applications and having a thorough understanding of our customer’s expectations is essential. </p>
<p>Our latest significant investment in a computerised visual inspection system was considered vital as the markets we serve demand high quality defect free film. </p>
<p>EVS 3<sup>rd</sup> Generation IQ-TEX system automatically detects, memorises and further characterises defects  and irregularities providing instant feedback.  Using Defect Sorting Algorithms it enables the system to define defect categories for automatic sorting into groups including defects as  small as 0.1mm. </p>
<p>The process will initially be used for defect detection on converting equipment but the real power of the system will be in driving improved quality from the coating lines, based on a better understanding of the root causes of defects.</p>
