In general, thin polyurethane dressings have a removable paper or film on the top surface when applied to the skin to prevent the dressing from wrinkling.

A recent evaluation of the dressings market led Exopack Advanced Coatings to the development of 60micron polyurethane film to add to the inspire™ portfolio. Available with or without adhesive, this is a self supporting film that does not require a paper or film on the top surface.

The advantages are wide-ranging. The dressings are simpler to apply. The increased strength of the film is useful for blister dressings and consumer plasters where the surface of the dressing can be damaged by rubbing. The inspire™ 60micron film overcomes the need for complex converting solutions e.g. cutting window frames, tabs and kiss cuts into the top liner. The converting process is simplified, reducing the number of dressing components, increasing productivity and reducing waste.

inspire™ 60 micron film maintains the excellent matt surface and low coefficient of friction associated with the thinner inspire™ films.
